Azmariz Vs Acid Mali 2000 will be released on my birthday Feb 15th as I do not want to spend Xmas sorting out release etc I'll be 43! Acid Mali released 13 years after its creation in the desert town of Seavre in 48-52oC, with limited diet and limited electricity on a 3GB hard drive laptop running an Egosystems Wami Box - first laptop soundcard/sampler that never worked and was withdrawn from the market! I bought it the month of release to put in my backpack as I left Brighton and Brixton for my real homeland. God I miss that place at the moment. Be warned. Acid Mali is pure Malian electronic acid! I was 30 and had been in India (including Goa) then Brixton and Brighton and was sweating through the intense heat, poverty and limited resources in the desert after. Azmariz is a compilation nod to Ethiopia. X

Can you spare a vote for an indie for the Songlines World Music Awards? :)

Hi Everyone, Two of my albums I just heard are up for the Songlines World Music Awards 2014 under both Best Cross Cultural Collaboration and also Best Band. The albums are Tiga Tej Tibs (released in Sept, latest review attached for info) and also a live concert album called Live and Raw. Any votes really help as I am always up against bigger labels with marketing and PR etc so it is hard as a small independent to break through. The voting link is below. I suggest voting for Tiga Tej Tibs on both as it is more world music based than the live album. If you vote you are entered into a raffle to win tickets to Womad Festival etc. I sent you all CD-rs or download links to Tiga before it was released in Sept but shout of course if you missed that. http://www.songlines.co.uk/phpQ/fillsurvey.php?sid=16 For best newcomer and best artist that is up to you, there are some juicy ones in there! Many thanks Dan www.invisiblesystem.com
